Vehicle Overview
All original “Henry Ford” Steel, full fender roadster
320 HP 350 Chevy V8

This ‘32 has just the right touches of Hot Rod added to a traditional roadster. The car features 2” dropped I beam front axle, Mustang disc brakes, Vega steering, and full Corvette independent rear suspension. Power comes from a fully balanced 350 Chevy V8 with 192 Camel Back heads and a Edelbrock high rise manifold with a 600 Holley. The engine is cooled by a Walker radiator and transmits power through a Turbo 350 automatic trans.

This car’s Hot Rod life started in 1979 when it was purchased by San Francisco Hot Rodder Al De Martini. At the time of purchase the car was completely stock right down to the frame rails and had lived most of its life in Northern California. The car was stored for a few years and slowly disassembled. In 1981 the original Ford frame was sent over to Roy Brizio’s for modification. The dropped front axle was installed, motor mounts for a 350 Chevy were fabricated and a Ford 9” rear end was installed.

By 1985 the car had been assembled and was running great. It was still in primer and set up as a traditional high boy without fenders. De Martini drove the car in this condition for a few years before taking it apart for final paint and detailing. While the car was apart he decided to replace the Ford 9” rear end with a full Corvette independent rear suspension. Again Brizio was called upon for the conversion. The look of the car changed completely with the installation of the original steel fenders. Now it was a state-of-the-art street rod.

The original Ford steel body is finished in Medium Brewster green with black fenders. The wheels are Chrysler wire wheels painted Tacoma Crème. The interior and rumble seat feature Labaron Bonney upholstery with matching top and boot. A Genie shifter, Cougar tilt steering column, and AM-FM radio with cassette finish out the interior. The side and back windows are engraved with a rose design and the cowl lights have been converted to turn signals.

Since it’s completion the car has appeared at the Oakland Roadster Show and has been driven only 3500 miles.
